This study analyzed how the demographic factors, the types of households, and the economic factors of female farmers affect the participation rate of female farmers' farming activities. In particular, this paper considered the following points that were not attempted in previous studies. First, we used a repeated cross-section data to reflect changes in the participation rate of female farmers’ farming activities over time. Second, a multilevel ordered logit model using cross-classified random effects was used for the analysis of the effect of female farmers’ farming activities by age group. The types of agricultural products, the types of households, and the sales amount of agricultural and livestock products turned out to be significant factors. Also, our study identified that there is a difference in the participation rate of female farmers' farming activities by age group. Namely, female farmers could be classified into three groups by the participation of farming activities: 26 - 45 years old, 46 - 65 years old, and 66 - 85 years old. The result of our study suggested that a policy for each age group should be in place for effective policy implementation related to female farmers’ farming activities.
