KREI Had Ceremony Celebrating Its 40th Anniversary, Opened History Hall

The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) had a ceremony celebrating its 40th anniversary to look back on its 40-year history and make a new leap forward at KREI, Naju, March 30.

The event was attended by about 350 current and former employees including KREI President Kim Changgil, Chairman Seong Kyoungryung of the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences, Director Kim Gyeonggyu of the Planning & Coordination Office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs , and 10 past KREI presidents.

That day, KREI opened its History Hall, “Path,” commemorating its 40th anniversary and telling its 40-year history and research history. The History Hall on the first floor of KREI displays photographs, documents, reports, and images that recorded the Institute’s 40 years, and is open to anyone.

At the celebration ceremony, research director Park Shihyun, Chair of the KREI’s 40-Year History Compilation Committee, reported the history of the Institute and its research history. The event included the ceremony of presenting KREI’s 40-Year History published to look back on the Institute’s history and seek the future direction. The presentation ceremony was followed by the screening of a promotional video celebrating the 40th anniversary. Also, President Kim gave Special Achievement Awards, Best Customer Awards, and Excellent Research Project Awards. After that, the staff unveiled a landmark stone, planted a commemorative tree,  and took a group picture outdoors.
