23rd Rural Policy Forum Held

The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) held the 23rd Rural Policy Forum on the theme of “Revitalization Plus for Vitalizing Rural Areas” at the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry on June 26.

That day, Chair Song Jaeho of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development gave a keynote lecture, “A Vision for Balanced Development and Expectations for Revitalization Plus.” Regional Development Division Director Kim Cheol at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs made a presentation on “The Direction of Revitalization Plus and Ways to Link with Rural Development,” KREI senior research fellows Kim Kwangsun and Sim Jaehun on “Revitalization Plus: Past Performance and New Direction,” and Hallym University professor Lee Giwon on “Cases of People-Centered Rural Revitalization and Their Implications.” The presentations were followed by discussion.

The Rural Policy Forum is a policy research network of researchers, field experts, public officials, and so on in the field of rural development. The Forum where people related to regional policy gather to seek the policy direction for regional development in Korea has lasted for nine years since 2009.
