The Korea Rural Economic Institute announced July 11 that it would set up and operate an Agricultural and Rural Jobs Task Force. The team will present concrete plans to increase jobs in the agriculture and rural sectors and medium- and long-term strategies. The task force will be run for six months from July to December. Its major tasks include collecting and analyzing statistics on agricultural and rural jobs; seeking opportunities to create jobs in response to changes in rural conditions; and analyzing the impact of new growth industries on jobs in agriculture and rural areas. The team plans to share policy plans with relevant ministries such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Employment and Labor by gathering and analyzing opinions of experts, policy makers, field activists and so on.
