1. How do you feel about participating in KAPEX Training Program?

I feel very happy to have this opportunity to participate in KAPEX Training Program and feel motivated to improve in agricultural value chains in Myanmar.

2. What you learned from KAPEX Training Program? and How did you apply what you learned from KAPEX to your home country?

I can learn a lot about postharvest management in Maize, improvement strategies of Agro Value Chains, Korean experiences in Agricultural Wholesale and retail markets, Korean seed production and supply system, Korean feed association, rice processing complex, and most importantly how Korean Government is nurturing Korean Agricultural cooperatives.

My applications for Myanmar are using these knowledges in knowledge sharing program for research and development activities.

3. Please Introduce us about 'How to deal with COVID-19 in each country on agricultural sector'

How to deal with COVID-19 in Myanmar on agricultural sector”

(a) With the onset of COVID-19, the Government of Myanmar adjusted its rice trade policy to maintain price stability and increase farmer incomes while also ensuring a sufficient supply for domestic consumption.

Myanmar set the rice export quota for May 2020 at 150,000 MT, further specifying 100,000 MT for the overseas markets and 50,000 MT through border trade to China. The validity of rice export licenses was reduced to one month and exporters can apply monthly. The government is also upping loans to support monsoon paddy and other agricultural production.

(b) Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MoALI) is planning to improve fish and aquaculture development for COVID-19 Response Plan by providing fish seed and capacity building program.

(c) MoALI in collaboration with Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA) support vegetable seeds, technology and supports for health for home gardening in states and regions of Myanmar.
