SELF-INTRODUCTION

I am Mane Tapaltsyan from Armenia, one of the participants to KAPEX training. I work as the Deputy Head (at present Acting Head) of the Agriculture Programmes Implementation Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.

Our Department is dealing with the state supported agricultural programmes implementation, i.e. subsidies and cashback.

The main directions of the state support are: smart barns, intensive orchards, green houses, introduction of modern irrigation systems.

There are other Departments at the Ministry that are also involved into the implementation of agricultural programmes by the beneficiaries.

KAPEX ACADEMY PROGRAMME

First of all, I would like to thank the staff that was involved into the organization of the training and in the training process in general.

Though there were some technical problems, e.g. I was permanently on a daily basis participating to the course but at the end it occurred that a big number of my assignments were not considered to be done. As soon as I applied the Korean Team the problem was solved. All other minor technical problems were immediately solved and there was no need to repeat the request twice.

WHAT I LEARNED FROM KAPEX ACADEMY PROGRAMME?

A lot! I have learned not only of the Korean agriculture and rural development priorities, but also about main principles of the development for agricultural sub-sectors. Previously, my knowledge was based on the experience obtained at working in this sphere, but at present the knowledge on all these issues is very much deepened and classified.

The KAPEX lectures were very laconic, but very much informative and strict to the point.

After each lecture I filled in the notes with words of gratitude to the lecturers and KAPEX Team in general.

I gained a lot of useful information on agricultural development in Korea. It was helpful to learn not only about the positive results of the activities undertaken by the Korean Government in this respect, but also to get informed on the problems and development stages from the very beginning. In other words, to see the evolution completely, with all inhibitors that were successfully overcome.

Besides, it was a comprehensive introduction of the Korean advanced technologies, like Smart agriculture, and the widespread acceptance and implementation of the technologies from the farms to the markets.

It is worthwhile to mention on the tremendous assistance provided by the Korean government for the tremendous support that the government is giving to the agriculture sector in terms of policies and legislations, funding support, and education of the stakeholders. Combined these with the intense commitment and participation of the farmers and people from the concerned sub-sectors, these enabled Korea to attain the state of agricultural development that it has today.

MY PLANS TO APPLY WHAT I LEARNED FROM KAPEX TO ARMENIA

Firstly, I would like to share the information on development of rural areas and best Korean practices, obtained from the course, among my colleagues of the relevant Departments at the Ministry.

Secondly, to look for funding support to purchase milkers and refrigerators for the constructed smart barns.

Thank you.
