The objective of this study were to analyze livestock farmers' preference
about the burden of grade-decision cost in livestock production(beef pork
carcasses), to suggest the level of government subsidy. The data for this study
were obtained from livestock farm survey in the chief producing district.
Major findings and policy implication to be drawn from the analysis are
summarized as follows: for hanwoo and pig farmer, according as 1 and A grade
judgment rate is high, the level of burden of grade judgment cost per head is
high. for hanwoo farmer, according as breeding scale is increasing, the level of
burden of the cost is increasing. But for pig farmer, according as breeding
scale is increasing, the level of burden of the cost is decreasing. The level of
government subsidy is about 40% of the cost.
