An Analysis on the Capability of Regional Agriculture Using the Agricultural Census Data

The purposes of this study are to draw out several significant policy implications for regional agriculture through analysis the capability of regional agriculture and to analyze the components of regional agriculture and the relations of cause and effect in the others.
Especially, this study suggest information regarding regional agricultural policy directions through exploring the component parts of regional agriculture and development of the capability indexes.
At the analysis of capability, we chose the main standardized variables regarding agricultural structures and classified the capability indexes into three parts(scale, performance, efficiency index). Thus, these each index was analysed about the capability of components in the regional agriculture structure.
The analysis results in the part indexes are followings. First, Scale index displayed that the regions of scale characteristic are Sangju, Gyeongju, Hwaseong, Dangjin, Iksan; the regions of performance characteristic are Gochang, Andong, Jeongeup, Dangjin, Haenam; the regions of efficiency characteristic are Namhae, Gijang, Hanam, Goeje, Goryeong.
Finally, the upper ranks of the regions of the total capability index are Andong, Dangjin, Gochang, Hwaseong, Jeongeup, Haenam, Gyeongju, Uiseong, Sangju, Naju and etc.
