The main purposes of this study are to build the decision-making support system of local self-government classified as rural area by using revised KREI-REMO established in 2010 and to link REMO with Rural development Support System (KREI-RDSS).
As local self-government's authority have been expanded, they have needed policy simulation model on rational decision-making to achieve their goals. To match their needs, KREI established KREI-REMO in 2010. however, KREI-REMO 2010 was the first stage project as a part of local self-government's decision-making supporting system. there were some limitations such as unaccessible database problems, method of classifying districts.
In KREI-REMO 2011, we first divided local district into 6 sectors in detail as compared with 3 sectors in KREI-REMO 2010. each sectors are classified by population, employment, industrial production and local government finance, and each parts are estimated by panel analysis. and we predicted 10 years' baseline on each local area with model. By doing so, KREI-REMO can perform economic and policy simulation under various conditions. especially, in the prediction of population, at local area level we developed migration functions based on various migration theories including gravity theory through cohort model.
we also tried to link KREI-REMO with Rural development Support System (KREI-RDSS) to meet purpose of this study is to build the decision-making support system of local self-government classified as rural area. finally, we illustrated user interface system's practical use as well.
