A study on Agricultural, Rural and Food Industry Development Plan for Gangseo-Gu, Busan
This study aims at establishing master plan for continuous development of agriculture and rural areas in Gangseo-gu across Production, Process, and Sales of agricultural special products and Experiential Tourism.
To cope with changes in agriculture and rural areas in Gangseo-gu actively, we examine regional, evironmental, and socioeconomic characteristics of Gangseo-gu, present a vision for agriculture, rural areas, and the food industry, and establish a long-term development strategy.
We set a vision for agriculture and rural areas in Gangseo-gu to build Ecotopia for win-win interactions between city and the agricultural industry. To realize the vision, we establish four specific development strategies: performing as landmark of the state-of-the-art horticulture industry, establishing a complex distribution center and local food chain, providing a station for exchange between urban and rural areas and recreation spaces for city dwellers, and establishing a systematic support system for agriculture and rural areas.
According to the development strategies, we suggest the investment plan on six business areas: 1) Environment-friendly Agricultural Distribution System, 2) Protected Horticulture Town, 3) Agricultural Products Distribution Complex, 4) Agricultural and Rural Theme Park, 5) Experiential Tourism, 6) Community Business Project.
Priority was set on each of the business areas based on feasibility and importance. Environment-friendly Agricultural Distribution System is composed of six business plans. Protected Horticulture Town consists of four plans in total, Agricultural Products Distribution Complex, five plans in total, Agricultural and Rural Theme Park, two plans in total, and Experiential Tourism, five plans in total. Community Business Project Development is composed of one plan. In sum, the development strategies will be realized through 23 business plans.
