Purpose of Research
○Korea's population has been falling since its peak in 2020 owing to a declining birthrate and is experiencing demographic changes such as a shrinking population, declining birthrate, aging population, and increase in single-person households. Demographic changes are closely related to the food consumption sector because the amount and type of food intake can vary depending on the size and composition of the population. Future food industry responses should be explored by examining demographic changes' impacts on the food industry, including changes in population size, population composition, and household composition. This study aims to closely analyze the impact of population structure changes on the food market from the perspective of food consumption and derives food market responses to demographic changes.
