Background of Research
○Many researchers and policy managers have discussed the crisis of rural extinction as the triple handicap caused by a decrease in population, income, and agricultural infrastructure in our rural areas intensifies. In particular, in order to overcome the crisis of rural extinction and promote rural revitalization, various solutions and incentives of economic problems have been emphasized. However, there have been few studies that have analyzed the actual conditions of the rural economy and provided systematic diagnostic data that are the basis for policy preparation. Existing studies or policy documents related to the rural economy have analyzed the rural economy mainly within the scope of agricultue and rural convergence industries, and have limited the spatial scope of the rural economy to the eup/myeon units. This narrow perspective was limited in analyzing the actual conditions of various economic activities in rural areas or the discriminatory local economy of individual rural areas.
