The EU, the United States, and Australia already set their own regulations against the production, processing and circulation of the illegally harvested wood and wood products. Korea will face a strong external pressure to set up the regulation on illegally logged wood and wood products in the near future. This study is designed for providing information on the illegal logging regulation. The expected economic impact under the regulation is positive to the forest industry. To show a sense of responsibility as a member of OECD it is time to consider preparation of the regulation, which is the most appropriate to Korea.
