[Colombia]Colombia Agriculture Status and Implications

The Government of Colombia has proposed a strategy for agriculture as a growth engine with the goal of "Prosperity for All" in the 2010-2014 National Development Plan (Plan Nacional de Desarrollo, PND). This strategy is to increase the competitiveness of the agricultural sector and ultimately to promote agricultural growth and development. Colombia is an emerging market with average annual economic growth of over 6% in the last five years as the three major consumer markets in Latin America.There are rich in resources such as nickel and crude oil. In this article, I would like to examine the agricultural situation and agricultural policy in Colombia.
