[Vietnam] 2016 Korea-China and Korea-Vietnam FTA Implementation and Agricultural Trade Trends

As a result of Korea-China FTA negotiations, most of the most sensitive items among agricultural and livestock products (93%) were excluded from the concession, resulting in limited increase in imports due to the fall in the tariff rate for the second year of FTA implementation. However, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of the existing agricultural sector in order to increase the imports of Chinese agricultural products due to the improvement of trade conditions. Meanwhile, in order to expand exports of agricultural products to China, policy support should be accompanied to find new export items and increase the utilization rate of FTAs. Therefore, this paper suggests trade status between Korean and China, also Korea and Vietnam.
