[The Philippines] Agricultural situation and policy in the Philippines

Although Philippine agriculture is dominated by exports of coconut, banana, and pineapple, the rice is not self-sufficient due to the land system based on squire, and lack of irrigation facilities and good seeds. The Government of the Philippines aims to enhance economic opportunities for all agricultural workers in the long term through the National Development Plan 2017-2022 as an agricultural development strategy, in particular to improve access to economic opportunities for young farmers. This article examines the agricultural situation and policies of the Philippines.
