KREI hosts the first meeting for domestic discussion before the U.N. Food Summit KREI and MAFRA hosted the first meeting to gather opinions of domestic producers, consumers, and experts on March 30 ahead of the U.N. Food Systems Summit scheduled for September. The first discussion for sustainable food systems was held in Seoul, presided by Hong-Sang Kim, the president of KREI. First, David Nabarro, the senior advisor on the Food Systems Summit Dialogues, explained the background of the summit meeting. Then, MAFRA presented plans for local discussions and the Presidential Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Policy introduced the national food plan. Also, the survey results on the public’s recognition of food systems, conducted by KREI and EPIS (Korea Agency of Education, Promotion, and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries) were presented, and agricultural producers, consumers, and various experts shared their views. |
