KREI Had Jeju Citrus/Fruit Outlook Presentation for Stable Supply, Demand of Agricultural Products in Jeju
The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI, President Kim Changgil) and the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Agricultural Research & Extension Services held a citrus/fruit outlook presentation for stable supply and demand at Jeju Farmers’ and Fishers’ Hall on March 7 (Wed.). The event was attended by about 250 people including farmers, producer groups, distributors, the Agricultural Cooperative, the Agricultural Technology Center in Jeju, and local government employees. The Jeju provincial government made a presentation on major policies for the development of Jeju’s fruit industry, and KREI’s Department of Agricultural Outlook on the fruit supply/demand trend and outlook. The following presentations followed: “The Citrus Market Trend” by Seoul Fruit & Vegetable Co.; and “The Citrus Growth Outlook” and “Fruit Technologies in Response to the Introduction of a Positive List System” by the Jeju Agricultural Research & Extension Services. The presentations were followed by discussion among experts from academia and related institutions and a question and answer session. |
