On Jan. 2, the Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) held a kick-off meeting for the year at the grand conference room. In his New Year’s address, KREI President Choi Sei-Kyun said that he would lead the institute focusing on the enhancement of efficiency and effectiveness, preparations for the relocation to Naju, employee welfare and communication.
At the meeting, Choi revealed major plans for this year. On budget execution, he emphasized frugality for welfare funds related to the relocation of the institute, and said that he would make the most of the regulations related to employee welfare to improve the efficiency of research, welfare, and self-esteem. He also called on all employees for participation and cooperation, saying, “Let’s give priority to efficiency and effectiveness beyond authoritarianism and red tape.”
The president mentioned that “communication is the most important virtue in solving all problems,” and he would do his best for communication and harmony with the employees, stressing the importance of having time to work smart and think smart this year.
