The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) held the inauguration ceremony of the KREI Future Agricultural Policy Forum on Friday, April 4 at the institute’s main conference room.
That day, the chair of the forum, KREI President Choi Sei-kyun said, “Constant issues with agriculture and rural villages may imply that the root cause of the problems has not been solved.” He emphasized that KREI would be a window through which opinions of experts in agriculture and other fields are gathered to solve the problems. Co-chair and Seoul National University professor Lee Tae-ho said, “The forum can be an opportunity for KREI to overcome the national policy research institute’s limits and expand its realm.”
The KREI Future Agricultural Policy Forum aims at discovering research issues to perform government projects regarding agriculture, rural communities, and agrifood effectively and collecting related experts’ various opinions. It consists of 3 departments: the agriculture department, the rural village department, and the food and marketing department.
