KREI had a retirement ceremony of research directors Park Seok-doo, Park Seong-jae, Eor Myong-keun, and Choi Kyeong-hwan on December 31 at the main conference room. KREI President Choi Sei-kyun thanked the four staff members who had devoted themselves to each field for the development of the institute, agriculture, rural areas, and the nation.

At the ceremony, the four research directors expressed their gratitude, saying that they “could retire safely thanks to the support of the president, co-workers, and family.”

Also, excellent employees won awards. The KREI President’s Award was given to research fellow Kim Jong-jin; researcher Nam Kyung-soo; visiting researchers Moon Dong-hyun, Park Han-ul, Sim Min-hui, Lee Dong-so, Lee Hyeong-yong; administrator Maeng Ja-gyeong; and research assistant Lee Gyeong-mi. And research director Lee Kye-im, professional researcher Jeong Dae-hui, visiting researchers Sin Yu-seon, Chae Sang-hyeon, Han Eun-su, and research assistant Lee In-suk received the Citation of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; visiting researcher Ban Hyeon-jeong won the Citation of the Minister of Food and Drug Safety. That day, research director Seok Hyun-deok sang “A Wonderful Day in October” celebrating the retirement ceremony, which brought a big applause.
