KREI Seminar on Enabling Business of Agriculture Hosted The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) held a KREI Seminar on Enabling the Business of Agriculture on Friday, June 30, inviting Program Manager Farbod Youssefi at the World Bank. Agricultural expert Youssefi has rich international experience in such fields as agricultural development, global research and extension programs, and food systems. His specialties include horticulture, nutrition and crop systems, postharvest handling, food quality and safety, agribusiness value chains, capacity building, and community development. This event introduced the progress of this year’s project among the World Bank’s Enabling the Business of Agriculture (EBA) series launched in 2012, and particularly compared and analyzed the environment for the Korean agricultural industry from an international point of view, thereby seeking the industry’s current competitiveness and future direction. Also, the participants discussed methods to collect data on agricultural environments and investment conditions by country, and emphasized that through the EBA system, it is possible to identify agricultural production environments by nation from a broad viewpoint.
