“Need to Bring Up Status of KREI by Producing Objective and High-Quality Researches” 28th anniversary ceremony is held on March 31, 2006 at grand conference room. To celebrate the 28th anniversary of the foundation, the KREI held a ceremony at the grand conference room and renewed the will to make a leap forward. At the ceremony, KREI President Choi Jung-sup emphasized “In the face of difficult situations facing agriculture at home and abroad, our role and mission is graver than ever before. We should put together our efforts to fulfil our duties.“ President Choi opened his speech by saying “The KREI has been able to advance all thanks to the effort of KREI employees.“ “We should use this anniversary ceremony as a venue to thank those who contributed to the development of the institute,“ said he. Furthermore, President Choi said “The status of the KREI could be elevated when we present more objective and logical mid/long-term development plans for our agriculture and rural areas and the negotiating strategies for FTA and DDA.“ and called for continuous hard work. After the ceremony, the former 6th KREI President Jung Young-il gave a special lecture entitled “Tasks to Innovate Korean Agriculture and Rural Areas and The Roles of the KREI.“ Former President Jung appreciated the efforts of the KREI employees despite unfavorable conditions, and shared his thoughts on the direction our agriculture, rural areas, and where the KREI should be headed and the roles of the KREI. |
