KREI Signed an MOU with the University of Missouri for Research Cooperation
Choi Jung-sup, president of the Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI), signed an memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Brady J. Deaton, chancellor of the University of Missouri-Columbia, on October 4 for mutually cooperative relations. By signing the agreement, the two sides agreed to actively cooperate in the carrying out of joint research tasks, information exchanges, and research related surveys as well as the training of employees for the next five years.
President Choi, who earlier was a guest to a dinner banquet hosted by the Agricultural Issues Center (AIC), University of California, delivered a speech on the current state and future objectives of Korean agriculture. In the meantime, President Choi also paid a visit to the Economic Research Service (ERS) at the United States Department of Agriculture on October 6 and exchanged views with ERS employees after he delivered a speech on the role of research institutions for the agricultural development in Korea.
