Public Officials from Vietnam Visit KREI for Training
The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) are jointly hosting a training program for public officials from Vietnam from October 15th to 30th.
Participating in the program are fifteen public officials and researchers who work for agricultural development in the nation. The trainees are attending lectures on such topics as the economic development process and agricultural development in Korea, and the background of and future strategies for 'Saemaeul Movement (New Village Movement).' The training program also includes a session studying ways that can be applied in building strategies for agricultural development in Vietnam.
Discussions and seminars on various topics are also held in the training along with a specialized course through which they can apply Korea's agricultural development model to Vietnam.
A round of excursions are also arranged for the participants to the following organizations and places: Korea Rural Community & Agricultural Corporation (KRC); Rural Development Administration (RDA); Garak Market, the nation's largest wholesale market for agricultural and fisheries products; Hanaro Club, a food wholesale/retail center run by a subsidiary of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF); Gangwon Provincial Office; Togomi Village; and Naechon-ri in Icheon.
