KREI President Kim to Sign MOU with OECD for Agri-food Policy Cooperation

Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) President Kim Changgil is to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development at the OECD Headquarters in Paris, France, April 18 (Tue.).

With the signing of this MOU, KREI will cooperate with the OECD in research on the overall agri-food sector including agricultural policy, agri-food trade and development, and sustainable agriculture.

President Kim plans to preside over a Bureau meeting of the OECD Joint Working Party on Agriculture and the Environment (JWPAE) on the 18th and attend the JWPAE meeting on the 19th. The agenda of the meeting includes OECD member countries’ agri-environment policies and their implementation, the sustainability of the agri-food sector, climate change adaptation and reduction, and the impact of agricultural productivity.

President Kim has served as Chair of the OECD JWPAE for four years since 2014, reappointed in 2016.
