The Korea Rural Economic Institute was named the best research institute in the 2012 research institute evaluation conducted by the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences. An award ceremony was held on May 7 and the research institute received two awards from the research council: an Award of Excellence for being the best research institute and an Award of Excellence for showing an exemplary leadership by the head of the institute. The winning of the awards has come in recognition of the contributions the institute has made in various research projects for rural development. A total of 11 national research institutes were evaluated in the category of ‘economic policy and resource infrastructure’. |
